Author: Ray Pendleton says It is said that there are no straight lines in nature, only arcs and curves. If that is the case, then the designers of the Mainship 35 Open Bridge have followed nature's lead.
Above and below decks, this contemporary-style boat has curves and lines flowing from one plane to another without the hint of a sharp edge. A reverse shear follows up from the stem, over the bridge and cockpit and back to the transom. Only the arc of the radar arch interrupts.
The best way to board the 35 at the dock or on the water is from a large swim step, molded into the transom. A concealed swing-down step is provided to assist swimmers. Large-diameter rails top the transom for safety and add their own curves to the total package.
The cockpit deck is raised to accommodate twin 300 hp, 454 Crusader gasoline engines with V-drives and a quiet 6.5 kw Onan generator.
